Gerrard was born and raised in Church Hill where he learned the importance of hard work and empathy for others. These values guide his approach to building strong relationships with clients because he believes common ground is what keeps us strong.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Virginia Union University in 2004 and later completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on the Public Sector from the University of Phoenix in 2015. Gerrard’s career began with a passion for helping others, starting as a courtesy clerk at Ukrop’s Grocery Stores. Over the years he worked in various sales roles including route salesman for Frito Lay and selling ladies’ shoes at Macy’s. These experiences fueled his curiosity about people’s stories; a trait he now uses to become a trusted advisor for his clients. His goal is to serve their needs fully and become part of their network of advisors.

Gerrard enjoys helping others in a subject that can often feel frustrating. Insurance is not always easy to understand, and he strives to solve problems in any way he can. If there is something he does not know, he readily admits it and seeks a professional opinion to resolve the issue. His philosophy is simple: never be loud and wrong.

In his current role Gerrard helps clients understand and navigate what matters most to them with their home and auto coverage. Whether setting up a simple home and auto policy, creating a landlord policy, or putting together a builder’s risk policy for renovation projects, Gerrard has his clients covered.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is licensed in Property and Casualty, with Life and Health licensing coming soon. Outside of work Gerrard is a devoted husband and father of two daughters. He is highly active in their school and extracurricular activities. In his free time, he enjoys reviewing movies and shows and occasionally joins friends on podcasts to discuss them.

Gerrard lives by the Golden Rule: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.” He believes in leading through empathy because you never know what someone else is going through and understanding that is key to helping others.
